  22.                               PROGRAM OVERVIEW

  24.    In a typical 6/49 lotto game, the odds are  13,983,816  to  1  against
  25.    winning  the  big  prize.    Every "system" for winning the lottery is
  26.    designed to reduce those odds by using some method of  recognizing  or
  27.    anticipating  the  trends, patterns or coincidences that occur even in
  28.    random-selection drawings.  WIN$EASY is designed to  help  you  reduce
  29.    those  odds  by providing the analysis tools necessary for any winning
  30.    system, by providing the most common number-selection methods (such as
  31.    boxing  and  wheeling)  and  by  providing  several innovative number-
  32.    selection methods of its own --  for  virtually  any  lottery  in  the
  33.    world.  Plus, WIN$EASY makes playing any lottery easier and  more  fun
  34.    by  automating  data  maintenance, drawing analysis, number selection,
  35.    and matching selections with drawings.  It even provides an electronic
  36.    scratch pad for experimenting with lotto numbers and groups.

  38.    The primary functions in WIN$EASY include:
  39.  
  40.         Configure the program for use with up to 99  different  lotteries
  41.         per  data  base,  reconfigure,  add  or delete games, change game
  42.         names, or select the active game.
  43.  
  44.         Maintain a data base of the numbers drawn in each lottery.
  45.  
  46.         Analyze the drawings in numerous ways.
  47.  
  48.         Use a  wide  variety  of  number-selection  techniques  based  on
  49.         drawing  analysis,  frequency,  boxing,  wheeling,  hot  and cold
  50.         numbers,  permutations,  play-slip  patterns,  numerology,    the
  51.         zodiac,   dice  rolls,  simulated  lottery  machines,  and  other
  52.         methods.

  54.         For lotto games that use playing cards instead  of  numbers,  use
  55.         the  playing-card  conversion  utility  to  convert  drawings and
  56.         selections from cards to numbers and vice versa.

  58.         Perform error-free matching of  your  selections  with  the  last
  59.         drawing(s) to identify winners, and save the auto-match report.

  61.         Use the scratch pad for  experimenting  with  lotto  numbers  and
  62.         groups,  save  them  in  files for later use (you'll never need a
  63.         pencil and paper with this program), and  transfer  numbers  from
  64.         other functions to the scratch pad and vice versa.

  66.         Maintain separate data bases for use by  different  players  (you
  67.         can  keep  track  of  your  spouse's  selections  separately from
  68.         yours).

  81.         (with an option  for  deleting  permutated  duplicates  for  one-

  83.         delete an entire selections file.

  86.         sensitive help function.

  88.    WIN$EASY, used by winners since 1988 in  its  DOS  version,  has  been
  89.    called  "The  best  lottery  program  I've ever seen", and the Windows
  90.    version is even better!  The  Windows  version  handles  lotto,  keno,
  91.    power ball and wild card games that use numbers in any range from 1 to
  92.    80, that draw up to 22 numbers, including any  bonus  number,  and  in
  93.    which a selection can have from 2 to 22 numbers.  It also handles one-
  94.    number (daily) games that use from 3 to 6 digits.

  98.                             DISTRIBUTION FORMAT
  99.  
  100.    The  system  may  be  distributed  in  any  of  three  setup  formats:
  101.    automated,  manual  or  custom.    Some distributors of the system may
  102.    include their own customized setup instructions,  in  which  case  you
  103.    should  follow  those  instructions.    Otherwise,  follow  either the
  104.    automated or manual setup steps below.

  108.                               AUTOMATED SETUP
  109.  
  110.    This is the installation procedure used for the registered version and
  111.    some  distributions  of  the  shareware  version.  If you received the
  112.    system on a disk (as opposed to downloading it from  a  BBS  or  other
  113.    source),  place the disk in drive A:  (or B:) and type DIR A:  (or DIR
  114.    B:) and press Enter.  If the directory listing includes the  SETUP.EXE
  115.    file  and most of the other file names have extensions that end in the
  116.    underline character (e.g.  NUMER.DA_), then you MUST use the automated
  117.    setup  procedure.   File names ending with the underline character are
  118.    compressed and must be copied to your hard disk by the setup program.

  120.         1.  Place the disk in drive A: (or B:).
  121.  
  122.         2.  Run Windows.  (At the DOS prompt, type WIN and press Enter.)
  123.  
  124.         3.  In the Program Manager window, select FILE, then select
  125.             RUN from the drop-down list of options.
  126.  
  127.         4.  Depending on which drive has the distribution disk, type
  128.             either A:SETUP or B:SETUP and press Enter (or select OK).

  130.         5.  Follow the on-screen instructions.

  132.         NOTE:  See "A Note About GRID.VBX" below.

  134.         If you encounter any problems with  the  automated  setup
  135.         procedure, you can still install the program manually, as
  136.         follows:

  138.             Your DOS files (probably in  your  C:\DOS  directory)
  139.             should  include a copy of the EXPAND.EXE program used
  140.             to uncompress files.  Type EXPAND /?  and press Enter
  141.             to  see a summary of how to use that program or refer
  142.             to your DOS manual.

  144.             You  must  include  the  proper  extension  in    the
  145.             destination  file  name.    Expand only the following
  146.             files from the distribution disk:

  161.             The source path is the location of  the  distribution
  162.             disk, either drive A:  or drive B:.  The  destination
  163.             path  for  VBRUN300.DLL  and  GRID.VBX  must  be your
  164.             \WINDOWS\SYSTEM subdirectory.  For example:
